| Style for the CureŽ |
For the seventh year, Komen North Jersey will partner with The Mall at Short Hills for the Annual Style for the CureŽ Education event.
This year, there will be one educational table located at Guest Services on the lower level of the mall. Volunteers will hand out our breast health information and fact sheets about Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure, which is scheduled for April 25, 2010 in Essex County Branch Brook Park, Newark.
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to Chair this event and several volunteers to participate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the month of October. |
Tie A Ribbon™
view photos |
Is a breast cancer awareness and education campaign. Eight foot long, hot pink ribbons are tied to trees throughout our towns, on school and corporate campuses and in neighborhoods throughout northern New Jersey. Each ribbon is accompanied by a hand tag which delivers the Komen 3-step, life saving message of early detection. The reverse side of the hang tag has an “in honor of” or “in memory of” opportunity.
Last year, over 105 towns throughout northern New Jersey participated, tying over 18,000 ribbons. This year, our goal is to double that number and tie ribbons in every county in our service area.
We are currently looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee this event. We are also looking for “Captains” to coordinate and represent each participating county.
If you have participated in Tie A Ribbon™ for your town in the past and would like to volunteer again, please let us know. |

Pink Tie Party

Our twelfth annual auction Pink Tie Ball was held at the NJPAC, Newark, NJ. Many volunteers made this a wonderful fundraising event which included a silent, live and raffle auction.
